the beauty of slow living

Some branches grow higher, only to be trimmed, some people run faster, only to reach the same end.

My new challenge: slow running. Honestly, it is probably slower than walking, but that's okay.

During my slow walk this morning, I noticed my neighbor's plants being carefully maintained by a professional gardener. Yet among the neatly trimmed shrubs, there were always one or two branches that had grown taller than the rest. In a few days, those branches will be trimmed back again.

It made me think about life. No matter how hard we try to become faster, bigger, richer, or more successful, in the end we all arrive at the same finish line.

So perhaps it's worth investing a little more time and energy in looking around us, appreciating our loved ones, and enjoying the present moment. Rather than constantly racing ahead, we can cherish the people and experiences that truly matter.

After all, we are heading toward the same finish line. The journey is what makes the difference.
